We don’t know exactly how many engineers BMW employs, but it must be in the millions right now. It’s only been one quarter since BMW unveiled the new 6-Series at the Shanghai Auto Show in March, but the Bavarians have already unleashed a new, powerful diesel engine for the lineup today.
The list of improvements doesn’t stop there, however, as a number of other changes will be available, including the introduction of the M Sport Package and the arrival of the carmaker’s xDrive all-wheel drive.
First things first, the optional M Sport kit covers aerodynamics kit with bespoke front and rear bumpers. There are a lot of the new M5’s flowing muscular lines in there, and the 6er is that much better for it. The car sits on 19-inch M light-alloy wheels in double-spoke design.
Buyers will also have access to the firm’s Individual range, which includes bespoke paint finishes, light-alloy wheels and numerous other options.
Inside, the M Sport package greats you with sports seats with Alcantara/leather upholstery and an M leather steering wheel. The most impressive feature available is that little head-up display that brings info on the speed you are doing as well as the limit at which you can travel on the road you are on.
The carmaker has also announced that the 650i Coupe and Convertible models powered by the 407HP turbocharged V8 will be available with BMW’s xDrive all-wheel drive system. According to the automaker, the 650i xDrive Coupe accelerates to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.8 seconds, while the 650i xDrive Convertible requires 0.1 seconds longer to complete the same sprint.
