The first European carmaker to detail the models which will be seen at the 2010 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit next month is BMW. The German carmaker announced today the vehicles which will be taken overseas, with the list including several exciting premiers, in regards to both the cars themselves and the technologies developed for them.
BMW's booth will comprise the recently detailed Z4 sDrive35is featuring the M Sport package, which will make its world debut at the event. The roadster will take point in the Z4 range and comes, as said, with a twin-turbo straight-six power unit, delivering 340 hp at 5,8000 rpm and 450 Nm of torque at 1,400 rpm.
The BMW ActiveHybrid 7, the first vehicle in the world to combine a V8 gasoline engine, eight-speed automatic transmission and an electric motor will also be on display for the Detroit public. With it BMW will complete the hybrid range with the Active Hybrid X6, another world first: the first Sports Activity Coupe with full-hybrid drive.
One of this year's most commented models, the segment creator 5 Series Gran Turismo will be at the center stage of the BMW line-up for NAIAS.
As for the technologies to be admired, BMW will bring to the event its best in terms of Advanced Diesel with BluePerformance, EfficientDynamics or the seven-speed Sport Automatic transmission.
The Detroit Auto Show opens its doors from January 16-24 2010.
