Looking at the title of this feature you might think we've lost our minds. Well, you would be right but for the wrong reasons. Let us explain.
We stumbled upon a new breed of drive tests, while browsing Jalopnik's posts. One of their editors had a quick, 10 minute test drive with three sport cars that was meant to also be read in no more than 10 minutes, because time is important.
The cars involved were a BMW E46 M3, a 2009 Lexus IS250 AWD and the 2013 Scion FR-S-. Comparing cars that with so many years between them seems like a crazy idea, but bear in mind that the Bimmer is the oldest one, and if any car can pull this off, its the M3.
Driving each car for only 3 minutes will make you get only a slight sense of how they really are and you're more likely to miss a lot of things. At the same time, it could provide everything you need to know about a car, just like the first kiss with your wife.
That was also the case with the M3. It only took a couple of minutes to see that this was the best car in this line-up, even though the other cars were 5 to almost 10 years younger. The BMW is still the winner out of the 3 and one of the best cars the Bavarian manufacturer ever made.
