The BMW G30 5 Series sedan has just been launched, which means all of the Internet's digital artists are busy coming up with various body styles that the Bavarian car maker hasn't released so far.
We've already seen the "new" M5, and can declare ourselves happy. The evolutive design the new 5 Series employs may not shake anybody's wold, but at least it builds on one of the most beautiful cars in its class, and we've named here the previous generation 5 Series.

Since it's an M car we're talking about, looks are just half of the package, with the other provided by the engine and handling. BMW never disappointed in the latter, and all signs point toward a very potent power plant under the hood as well. It'll also get all-wheel-drive for the first time, something that will upset the purists but will make all those who appreciate a very short 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint time very happy.

But enough on the M5, let's focus on the car at hand: the 5 Series Touring. The market for station wagons isn't doing too well, but at least in Germany, it is still going pretty strong. That means that like it or not, German manufacturers are going to keep building cars in this body style, and we're sure there are plenty of family men who would approve.

The wagon version looks just like you would expect it to: identically in the front up until the B-pillar, where things get a turn for the more spacious. If you look at the two renderings, you'll notice they have different front ends. That's because while Theophilus Chin opted to use the 5 Series sedan with the M Package as a starting point, X-Tomi did the same with the Luxury line.

We're quite happy with this mini-7 Series that the BMW designers have decided to put on the market, and the fact it will also come as a wagon only adds to the variety. We have only two questions: will BMW make an M5 Touring, and will it also offer a rival for the new E-Class All-Terrain? We think both would be pretty damn cool in their own different ways.
