German aftermarket specialist mcchip-dkr recently got to play with a E92 generation BMW 335i coupe, it just couldn’t help fiddle with its ECU and now wants to share the results with us.
The Motronic engine management system was adjusted, with mcchip-dkr using the dyno for the work, with the job taking 4 hours to complete. The 3.0-liter twin-turbo petrol straight six delivers 306 hp and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) when it leaves the factory and now it received a boost of 53 hp and 96 Nm (39 lb-ft).
This is the equivalent of an output offered by an average 1.0-liter naturally-aspirated engine, like the ones found in many A-segment cars on sale today, so you can imagine that the driver really feels the extra muscle gained by the car after the tech play session.
