The National Crime Information Centre in the US did an interesting study earlier this year and they came up with some interesting rankings. Their endeavor was set to find out what car is stolen the most in the US.
Their findings were more than interesting. In the luxury segment, the 3 Series was ranked second, according to data collected from NICB (National Insurance Crime Bureau). The results were based on data collected from 2010 to 2012.
Furthermore, the 5 Series shows up 6th in the ad-hoc top they made, placed just under the Cadillac CTS and above Lincoln MKZ. This doesn't bother us at all, as this is one competition you don't want to win.
The number one spot went to Mercedes-Benz's C-Class, whilst other notable models also showed up, like Infiniti G and the E-Class. The rankings went a little something like this:
1. Mercedes-Benz C Class
2. BMW 3 Series
3. Infiniti G
4. Mercedes-Benz E-Class
5. Cadillac CTS
6. BMW 5 Series
7. Lincoln MKZ
8. Acura TSX
9. Lexus IS
10. Mercedes-Benz S-Class
