After a lot of talk about how the new 1 Series GT based on the Active Tourer Concept, we're finally getting to take a look at how it will look like, thanks to some leaked patent images.
The pictures we found on carnewschina.com seem to point out to the short wheelbase model and not the LWB one that is rumored to be able to accommodate 7 people, becoming an MPV of sorts.
As you can see, the images are pretty close to the concept model, just as BMW got us used to lately. Even though it seems a bit tall for a Bimmer, the front kidney grilles and the headlights reassure us, its a Bavarian car, despite the missing roundels.
Furthermore, at the back you can actually spot something that looks like the Hofmeister kink, even though the car is supposed to be front wheel drive and using a 1.5-liter 3-cylinder engine.
Round the back, the LED stripes are again noticeable, in pure BMW style. The rear bumper shows 2 tailpipes, even though they might not be completely necessary (unless we're bound to see a 3-liter engine on this car, which seems unlikely at the moment).
One thing is definitely disappointing about these images though. They seem to be lacking the giant sunroof showcased on the Active Tourer Concept. However, we do think that this is just one model of the bunch and we're hoping to see a panoramic view on other variants. What do you think of BMW's first FWD car?
