Italian superbike manufacturer Bimota changed hands once more, Motorcycle Daily reports.
This time it looks like Bimota was bought by a Swiss businessman who remains unknown so far. The same rumors see the Swiss business group investing a significant amount of money into the brand with the main goal of developing several new models. We might expect an official statement as early as next week.
Now, even though the history of Bimota was really tumultuous during the last two or three decades, we can hope for better days. After the company went out of business just before the last century ended, 2003 saw its former Italian Robert Comini trying to bring it back to the former glory.
The change of ownership might bring a small delay in the production of the new machinery. We might even see Bimota finally launching the DB11 VLX supercharged beast we saw last year at the EICMA.
Anyway, it looks like glitch-free operation is the main concern for Bimota, and the rebirth of the brand starts with their first technically-flawless machine. Fingers crossed, go Bimota!
