The beautiful Moonsong is not just another dual-loft tiny home; it's the miniature version of a classic mansion in the countryside, which doesn't feel like a miniature at all. Packed with custom features and luxurious perks (including a built-in wine rack), this Tasmanian creation continues to be one of the best vacation homes on wheels ever.
At first glance, tiny living would seem to contradict anything grandiose, and the concept of downsizing seems to imply compromise in terms of comfort and style. Still, the ingenuity of so many designers and builders has proven time and time again that flawless luxury can come even in the most compact form.

Moonsong is one of the finest examples of epic-level tiny living. Masterfully crafted and packed with unique features, it shows us that downsizing and luxury can go hand in hand. This home is big, bold, sophisticated, and beautifully connected to its surroundings—in other words, the perfect vacation home on wheels.

Moonsong holds a special place for the Tasmanian tiny house company Artisan Tiny Homes. After long hours and hard work put into the team's show model, this was their first commission, and it paved the way for a long series of gorgeous custom projects to come. What makes it even more intriguing is that, despite being their first customer project, this house was also their most complex. Indeed, it proudly displays its craftsmanship and design skills, truly worthy of an "artisan."

This eight-meter (26.2-foot) tiny with a standard width (2.4 meters/8.7 feet) was large enough for a two-bedroom configuration, with both bedrooms designed as queen-sized lofts. The open-concept ground floor incorporated a modern, spacious kitchen and a flexible lounge/dining area that could also be turned into a practical home office. With two generous lofts, the Moonsong Tiny could easily accommodate up to four guests, but it wasn't all about spaciousness: this clever tiny held many more pleasant surprises as a luxury vacation home.

High-quality woodwork was one of the most important elements of this custom tiny home. Native Australian hardwood known as Tasmanian Oak (or Tassie Oak) was used for the floors, as well as the gorgeous kitchen countertop; both bedrooms and the bathroom revealed a stunning feature wall made of timber with a powerful visual impact; the built-in bench in the lounge area flaunted unique timber paneling and the staircase treads were custom-stained for an elegant, dark look. All of these bespoke elements highlighted the home's overall craftsmanship while adding a "luxury cabin" touch.

At the time, Moonsong looks contemporary and even urban. The split staircase is not only a great way to access both lofts while connecting them to each other but was also ingeniously used to create a luxurious cooking/dining area. Having two staircases meant double space for open storage; one compartment was turned into a built-in wine rack – a lovely addition to any vacation home; others were used to house kitchen appliances, including the fridge. The result is an impeccable, clutter-free kitchen that doesn't lack any major appliances.

The Moonsong's lounge is a gorgeous oasis in the middle of nature. Thanks to all the large windows, it's surrounded by panoramic views, and it connects to the exterior deck via classic Aussie-style sliding doors that blur the line between the inside and the outside. The L-shaped bench with custom-made cushion seat covers offers generous seating and additional storage underneath.

What makes this lounge extra special is the clever integration of a breakfast bar/home office desk with up to three seats. It's a great spot to enjoy meals while admiring the view, and it's just as great as a traditional snack bar during summer BBQ parties in the indoor/outdoor lounge. Those who need to work while on vacation can use this smart corner as a makeshift private office with a view.

A spa-like bathroom is one of the must-haves of any luxury vacation home, even the ones on wheels. Behind the classic barn-style door, the Moonsong Tiny reveals a modern rustic bathroom with a stunning feature wall, a tiled shower and bath area, and a conventional toilet.

The beautiful handmade vanity with extra storage is another bespoke element that adds character. We also love all those large windows throughout the home, including the one in the bathroom. They're not only excellent for proper ventilation and natural light, but they also add a contemporary touch, balancing out the home's rustic appearance.

The lights, textiles, and furnishings were all carefully selected to create the warm, sophisticated ambiance of a countryside mansion with pops of color and functional additions. Both bedrooms exude a sense of luxury due to the high-quality flooring, fluffy rugs, and full-size feature walls. Double windows on each side keep them luminous and airy. Instead of solid protection walls, they come with minimalist safety rails that keep the space open and don't obstruct the line of sight.

Overall, the Moonsong Tiny feels anything but tiny and certainly warm and welcoming. With its generous exterior decks for outdoor entertainment, it seems even bigger and more luxurious. In terms of pricing, the Artisan Tiny Homes come in four main categories based on length.

An eight-meter model like the Moonsong starts at AUD 149,000 ($99,440) but the final price depends on the level of customization. The most affordable models offered by this Tasmanian builder start at AUD 134,000/$89,400 at six meters/19.6 feet, and the largest ones don't go past nine meters (29.5 feet).
