Bentley Continental GTC Speed to Make UK Debut in July

Bentley today announced that its latest creation, the Continental GTC Speed, will be on display at this year's 2009 Pageant of Power in the United Kingdom on July 18-19. "Bentley will also showcase the very best of contemporary British engineering, styling and craftsmanship by debuting the world’s fastest production convertible," Bentley said giving us a hint into how the company's exhibition boot will look like.

Bentley Motors, who is also a sponsor of the event, will also present the company's 2003 Le Mans-winning EXP Speed 8, a high-performance model that comes equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged unit that develops around 600 bhp.

“We’re delighted to be sponsoring the Pageant of Power and also to be bringing the Continental GTC Speed to the event,” commented Robin Peel, Bentley’s Head of UK Marketing.

“Even during its first year the Pageant of Power created a unique, relaxed atmosphere perfect for both enthusiasts and someone seeing these cars for the first time and we believe it is set to go from strength to strength.”

The Bentley Continental GTC Speed is powered by a 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged engine that develops a maximum power of 600 bhp. The high-performance model is capable of jumping from a standstill to 100 km/h in no less than 4.5 seconds and comes equipped with a permanent all-wheel drive system providing best traction control in all weather conditions.

In case you're wondering what's the top speed this state-of-the-art model is capable to achieve, the Bentley Continental GTC goes as fast as 195 mph (313.8 km/h) with the roof down and 200 mph (321.8 km/h) with the roof in place.
