It's small-displacement bikes time again, as Benelli, now owned by Chinese group Qiangjiang announces two beginner machines: the C150 and Uno C250.
Like its name says, the Uno C250 is a 250cc machine. This new bike will be powered by a water-cooled single-cylinder engine rumored to deliver 24.5 hp and a 21 Nm (under 16 ft-lbs) torque at 9000, and 700 rpm, respectively. Benelli has not released detailed info on the other bike, C150, but we expect it to play along the name game and come with a 150cc (or slightly smaller) displacement.
While the Benelli badge is usually associated with high-performance street bikes, it looks like the brand will be present on the Asian markets with these new vehicles starting from 2013. There is no word on the potential sales of the Benelli C150 and Uno C250 on the European and North American markets, but such a decision would not be that much of a surprise, given the plethora of small-bikes being launched of late.
