As with the ever greener auto industry today, the new generation Lexus IS has also received a hybrid powertrain, ditching the old fashioned diesel powertrain as an economic solution.
The Lexus IS 300h represents the middle of the range and it’s powered by the same 2.5-liter V6 engine from the IS 250 which is aided by an electric motor, totaling a 219 hp (164 kW) sent to the rear wheels through an automatic CVT gearbox. This setup translates into a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 8.5 seconds and a top speed of 201 km/h (125 mph) with an average fuel consumption of 4.9 l/100 km (48 mpg).
Standard features include 16-inch alloy wheels, smart entry and start system, fabric/Tahara upholstery, dual zone climate control, 7-inch VGA infotainment system with 6-speakers audio, leather trimmed steering wheel and gear knob and more.
The entry level IS 300h starts at AU$58,000 and if you want more, you can have the F Sport version which has a starting price of AU$67,900.
