Not long ago, Domino's Pizza joined the CarPlay world with an app that took many by surprise. Drivers can browse their previous orders and send new ones without even touching the smartphone, all from the CarPlay screen in their cars.
Now, more restaurants plan to follow in Domino's footsteps, with Chick-fil-A also developing CarPlay support for their iPhone app.
The company has already confirmed it's "testing capabilities in the Apple CarPlay system," but the app isn't yet ready for prime time. Some users who installed the app on their mobile devices claim it also appeared on CarPlay, but when they launch it, it hits an error telling them that the vehicle integration isn't yet finalized.
Chick-fil-A has remained tight-lipped on the functionality it plans for the CarPlay app, but it's safe to assume it'll sport features similar to the ones integrated into Domino's software. Users will probably be able to see previous orders, resend them, and possibly pay from the CarPlay screen with payment information stored on the mobile device.
The full experience will still be available on the iPhone, so if some features don't debut on CarPlay, users can park their cars, browse menus, and access the complete feature lineup from the mobile device.
