Exactly one week from today, the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed will open its gates (July 11-14, 2024), and numerous automakers have announced their presence. Alpine just wrote its name on the list, announcing an exciting lineup of cars, including racers, from its past and present days.
Having celebrated its world premiere at the 24 Hours of Le Mans last month, the Alpine A290 is now on its way to Goodwood, where it will attack the Hillclimb. This is the hot hatch version of the Renault 5 E-Tech. It packs a single electric motor that drives the front wheels, generating 217 horsepower (220 ps/162 kW) and 221 pound-foot (300 Nm) of torque.

This is in the most potent flavor, called the GT Performance, and it represents a generous boost over the standard Renault 5 E-Tech, which enjoys 148 hp (150 ps/110 kW) in its top form. Alpine also offers the A290 in the GT grade, with 177 hp (180 ps/132 kW) and 210 lb-ft (285 Nm) of torque. This model needs 7.4s to 62 mph (100 kph), and the GT Performance is a second faster.

Both versions of the electric hot hatch feature the same battery pack as the upper specs Renault 5 E-Tech. It is a 52 kWh unit that enables a 236-mile (380 km) driving range, slightly down from the new 5 E-Tech's 249 miles (400 km). The Renault 5 E-Tech-rivaling MINI Cooper E offers a smaller battery pack and has a 190-mile (306-km) autonomy. A 15-80% recharge takes half an hour at 100 kW.

The aero-optimized A110 Pikes Peak racer, which boasts 500 horsepower (507 ps/373 kW), will also be taken to the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed. With its light carbon body and other highlights, the stunning Alpenglow Concept will join it in a static display, whereas the 1975 A110 Group 4 Tour de Corse rally car will be demonstrated on the Hillclimb.

Alpine's motorsport lineup will also include the BWT Alpine F1 Team showcar, which will be dynamically demonstrated by the brand's F1 reserve driver Jack Doohan, F2 racer Kush Maini, and F3 racer Sophia Floersch. The 1970s twin-turbo V6 RS10 F1 racer and the V6 A442B endurance racer will also be on display at next week's event, alongside the A110 R Le Mans and the entire A110 family, including the S, GT, R, and Enstone.

Visitors can test their skills on the Alpine simulator and will get to see a preview of the upcoming Atelier Alpine, which allows customers to choose from 26 new colors for the modern-day A110, which were inspired by the brand's historic vehicles, combined with various wheels and brake calipers in different exclusive hues. So, are you paying Alpine a visit at this year's Goodwood FoS?
