The Japanese automaker Nissan has big plans for the North American region in the years to come – and of course, a new generation of the Murano nameplate, the fourth by its name, is included in the strategy.
The company wants a 60% "renewed and reinforced ICE lineup" in time for the fiscal year 2026 with four brand-new and one-all-new models for FY2026, one brand-new and five all-new for FY2025, and no less than four models coming out during the current FY2024. Those are the already presented 2025 Infiniti QX80 full-size SUV, the all-new Nissan Kicks compact crossover SUV, the all-new Patrol/Armada, and the all-new Murano.

Obviously, the Patrol slash Armada will follow in the footsteps of the Infiniti QX80 behemoth – not necessarily in terms of looks but rather as far as the technical details are concerned. As such, everyone expects the brands to share the 450-hp 3.5-liter VR35DDTT twin-turbo V6 and nine-speed automatic transmission. So, the mystery surrounds the all-new Murano more than anything else.

No worries, as the rumor mill is always watching, and the imaginative realm of digital car content creators is never far behind with their unofficial visions of refreshed and all-new models. As such, back in May, our spy photographer partners caught the all-new 2025 Nissan Murano in a premiere and spied on it both inside and out. Expected to launch as a 2025 model year in North America, some would say it's a prettier Ariya on ICE.

Others, like the good folks at Kolesa, along with their resident pixel master Nikita Chuicko, aka kelsonik on social media, have imagined the all-new 2025 Nissan Murano as a worthy sibling of the all-new 2025 Nissan Kicks and refreshed 2025 Nissan Qashqai. As such, we can see the distinctive shield-like grille from the latter and the signature LED stack from the former – albeit arranged in a novel way to make sure no one mistakes the hypothetical Murano for a Kicks or a Qashqai.

More precisely, the pixel master worked to integrate a sleeker design for the front fascia dominated by the grille and boasting slim headlights, small fog lights, and a new daytime LED signature that won't be easy to forget. Meanwhile, things are pretty simple at the back – there's only a big LED strip from one side to the other with an integrated 'Nissan' script and a very clean surface for the rest of the rear.

The profile, instead, gets a new two-tone appearance with a glossy black roof that's sloping toward the rear, large wheels, and upright doors. The author also compared the unofficial illustrations with the real world's current Nissan Murano iteration, asking which one is better – the old or the new (CGI) one. So, what do you think?
