The Ford Excursion was a heavy-duty SUV created by Ford Motor Company and produced between 2000 and 2005 – it was the longest and heaviest SUV ever at the time of its introduction. Today, the title for biggest dimensions goes to the 227-inch Cadillac Escalade ESV, by the way.
Obviously, the Excursion was a behemoth in its own right – and it left an unmistakable mark on the SUV landscape with its mammoth size, towering presence, powerful towing prowess, and great V8 and V10 engines. It was 226.7 inches long and had a curb weight of up to 7,688 pounds with the turbodiesel mill – it is no wonder that this Ford SUV remains in a class of its own!

So, across the parallel universes of vehicular CGI, a question was born on various occasions – what if the Excursion made a comeback? Frankly, it's not without logic. In this day and age where CUVs, SUVs, and trucks reign supreme, a reborn Ford Excursion might copiously dominate the competition. Yes, there's a Ford Expedition Max and a Lincoln Navigator L that closely try to fight the Chevrolet Suburban and GMC Yukon XL, but with the Caddy Escalade ESV being even bigger, there's room to spare.

Plus, there are numerous possibilities of revival – based on the F-Series Super Duty, a vehicle larger than the Expedition Max could haul an extended family, their belongings, and also a boat or a tiny home, all while turning the heads of onlookers while on the road. Thus, it is no wonder that the imaginative realm of digital car content creators loves to bring back the idea of reviving this beloved nameplate every now and then.

Just recently, Dimas Ramadhan, the virtual automotive artist behind the Digimods DESIGN channel on YouTube, has taken up the task of CGI-revealing a reborn Ford Excursion as his latest design project. Interestingly, while the underpinnings would be shared – obviously – with the Super Duty, the design is borrowed from the newly refreshed F-150, especially the front and rear lights.

Otherwise, it's a 'classic' Ford SUV design – boxy yet stylish, tough yet slightly elegant. The only thing is that this revived 2025 Ford Excursion would also be capable of hauling the entire family with grannies plus a boat, for example. Unfortunately, this is all merely wishful thinking – the Blue Oval company hasn't revealed any plans to bring back this beloved nameplate.

Instead, Ford is focused on bringing to life a veritable cash cow – the $325k Mustang GTD - and delivering as many F-Series trucks as possible. That's the gist of it all at home in America, for example. In Europe, on the other hand, they are pushing the electrification plans and just revealed the reborn Ford Capri, which morphed from the original fastback coupe to a bulkier crossover of the coupe-SUV variety.
