Car customization knows no limits, which is why tuners like Mansory thrive. Name a model, regardless of when it came to life, and chances are you will find many aftermarket components for it.
Some are ridiculous and usually include exaggerated body kits and oversized alloys, usually sprinkled with custom interiors that are just as brash as their exteriors. Others are quite nice to look at and prove that less is still more in the car tuning game. Add a small power boost, a fresh pair of wheels that are not on the OTT side, tint the windows, and you've got a cool ride.
However, not everyone agrees with the latter part. And that is why vehicles like the Alfa Romeo Stelvio pictured above exist. This otherwise fine Italian premium compact crossover met its owner's wrath, as he wanted his car to stand out. Thus, he gave it a chrome blue wrap and fitted it with a set of humongous wheels.
The latter measure no less than 30 inches in diameter and by the looks of it, fitting them required some chopping. The alloys have a gold finish, silver lips, and some blue accents to tie them to the crossover's flashy exterior, with the spinning center caps rounding off the styling here. The car's owner also opted for tinted windows, which are this project's only cool touch.
Did you think this is where the kitschy makeover ended? Well, it also continues on the inside with those blue floor mats that feature diamond quilting. The center console is home to a large gadget holder, and the ridiculousness continues further back. You will have to pop the tailgate open for the next leg, as it has been filled with a custom crate that's home to multiple speakers.
Thus, this gaudy Alfa Romeo Stelvio is not only horrible to look at and dreadful to drive due to those oversized wheels that have ruined the comfort but also far less practical than it used to be when it rolled off the line at the Lazio factory in Italy. At least it can get the party started wherever it goes, and with those vulgar mods, it's bound to be noticed, which is what its owner always wanted.
On a more positive aspect, it can easily be turned back to its OEM condition, save for a few aspects that would require a bit more work, so not all is lost. By the way, with an MSRP of $45,950 for the base grade of the latest model year in the United States, it wasn't exactly cheap to begin with. But it certainly looks very cheap now. What would you say to its owner if you met him? Actually, hold that thought until after you watch the video shared below.
