When the Type 940 started production in 2010, Alfa Romeo showed every other automaker around that you can blend the practicality of a five-door family hatchback with the gorgeous aesthetics the Italians are so good at. But the Giulietta didn’t age too well...
Despite the modest facelift the nameplate received early this year, changes are so minute there’s nothing much to differentiate the original Type 940 from the perked-up and better equipped 2014 Alfa Romeo Giulietta. In comparison to the latest Seat Leon, the Giulietta looks way past its prime.
Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles NV boss Sergio Marchionne is adamant Alfa Romeo will be turned around with a sea of all-new models slated to be launched by 2018. Late 2015 will see the launch of the 159’s successor (Tipo 952), but the Giulietta will be replaced way later (third quarter of 2016 probably).
Despite plummeting sales volumes, the C-segment five-door hatchback remains true to the Alfa Romeo spirit. In the case of the UK-only Business Edition of the Giulietta, the Italian automaker wanted to combine design flair with value for money for British-based companies with large fleets.
Due to its extremely competitive OTR and P11D pricing, the Alfa Romeo Giulietta Business Edition is a compelling offer for business users, a way more interesting one than a Ford Focus or BMW 3 Series.
Starting from just under £19k, this model features a lot of creature comforts and technology for the money you’re charged by Alfa Romeo UK. All specs and pricing info can be found in the release below.
