First things first - we have to issue an apology to Alfa Romeo and our readers because we originally thought that the Italians were coy about admitting that North America was out of the loop as far as the Mille Miglia-inspired Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio Super Sport limited editions are concerned.
Back in February, Larry Dominique, Alfa Romeo's Senior Vice President for the US market, announced the company was prepared to bid farewell to the hot Quadrifoglio models in the region – order books would remain open solely until April, and then the final units would come out the factory gates in June. But, of course, he didn't mention anything about the Super Sport models because those were under wraps until the middle of May.

As it turns out, the global availability for the new Quadrifoglio Super Sport special limited series models doesn't have the proverbial catch that we wrongly deduced and will include America, after all. These two were developed to pay tribute to Alfa Romeo's first victory at the 1928 edition of the iconic Mille Miglia race with the equally legendary Alfa Romeo 6C 1500 Super Sport. As we previously said, those looking to add a Quadrifoglio Super Sport to their collection should hurry with the checkbooks - the automaker will produce just 275 units for the Giulia sedan and 175 examples of the Stelvio crossover SUV.

Of those, Alfa Romeo has allotted exactly 72 units for Giulia and 52 for Stelvio to America as the final run of the current Quadrifoglio models. Just like the international versions, the North American models feature the new black Quadrifoglio exterior badge, 3D red carbon-fiber trim inside the cockpit, plus additional exclusive perks. Of course, the twin-turbo V6 is under the hood, but – again – we have found a catch. In Europe, the special edition is offered with 520 ponies under the hood, but across the big pond (aka the Atlantic Ocean), their number is reduced to 505!

Of course, the pricing is not too shabby either – the MSRPs kick off at $86,770 for the 2024 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio Super Sport and $94,370 for the 2024 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio Super Sport, both prices exclude the $1,595 destination. However, US fans shouldn't complain – the Australian prices are even worse. In the Land Down Under, the local specification includes a bump to 510 horsepower, as well as list prices of AUD 174,200 for the Giulia QV SS and AUD 183,200 for the Stelvio QV SS.

Those are BPVs, by the way - Base Vehicle Price includes GST and LCT (if applicable) but excludes all on-road costs and dealer delivery fees. Also, they're $116,439 and $122,537 in currency translation, respectively! Unfortunately for Australians, Alfa Romeo also doesn't mention the exact allocation for the premium sedan and crossover SUV.
