Since I started covering the motorhome and on-road living industry, I've noticed some trends, and the most recent one is all about Class C RVs; people just want an all-inclusive and turnkey experience.
That's where Airstream comes in, the one and the same that's been a staple of American on-road living for decades. Heck, they truly are one of the teams that needs no introduction. What does need some attention is their 2025 Atlas, a Class C RV lineup that we've covered before. That said, balance those checkbooks, and let's see what's in store for the new year.

There's a reason why I urged you to balance your checkbook; the Atlas Murphy Suite, the one and only option available under the lineup, starts at a solid $313K, so quite a bit. But then again, once you start to see what's in store with this lineup, you'll understand that it's a different kind of camper, one that's suitable for year-round living on the road.

As this unit's name suggests, the interior hides a Murphy bed layout. If you're in tune with recent trends for this type of machine, you also know that this is one of the more sought-after floorplans. Why? Simply because of the way a Murphy bed works.

As a clear example, picture yourself in the center of what you see in the image gallery. Go ahead and spin up some breakfast, have a seat at the dinette to enjoy the meal, and even hop in the shower to ready for the day or night. However, you like to do things. Why not indulge in a chat with your significant other while hanging out on the couch?

But, come nighttime, that very same couch you once entertained guests on will transform into your bedding. Just pull the grab bar toward you and watch a two-person bed just pop into view. Good night. Simple enough, and the benefit of this sort of setup is that there's a ton of space inside the unit for daily activities. No joke; you can even squeeze in a spot of yoga on those sunny mornings.

To expand this interior further, Airstream also has one more trick up its sleeve. As I explored the layout, I was surprised to see that this manufacturer even threw in a slide-out to maximize the available space. Most units with a Murphy bed don't also have a slide-out, as it's typically enough; Airstream just went a step further.

Now, I'm going to skip over details like LEDs and windows because we all know that's in store, but what we can't see are features like heated tanks with 20 gals (75 liters) of fresh water, a 60,000 BTU water heater, a 3.6 kW Onan generator, and two 100 Ah batteries. Did I mention the 400 W of solar panels mounted on the roof?

Since I've started talking about the exterior, let's continue with it to see what kind of lifestyle Airstream has in store for us. One of the downsides that I spotted with the Atlas was its lack of an outdoor galley, but that's just me; I love to cook outdoors. However, there are plenty of storage bays that allow you to bring along your favorite portable unit, whichever that may be; just lift the unit's side skirts, and voila. Extend the awning, throw up a couple of chairs, and enjoy your stay.

The final aspect of the Atlas' allure is the base vehicle that Airstream has chosen for this year-round job. None other than Mercedes-Benz steps up to this plate, as they have countless times before. a Sprinter 4500 chassis brings a 9-speed transmission and 211 hp to the game and is able to crank out a peak of 332 lb-ft of torque with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine.

It's also going to be coming in with a GCWR of 15,250 lbs (6,917 kg), so that means that even a trailer can be hooked up behind this unit, further extending the way your lifestyle may unfurl. Are you into e-biking through the local woods or kayaking on lakes before dawn? Then this one may just be for you. A standard air ride suspension is there, too, so you clearly won't be feeling the road, but do make sure to stick to landscapes within the manufacturer-recommended limits.

Oh, and let's not forget that all the benefits that come with a Mercedes are also in place. Active Brake Assist, Active Driver Attention Assist, lane keeping, and a plethora of other features are there to ensure you reach your destination time and time again.

For the rest of your day, take the time to really sink into the images in the gallery and get a feel for this unit. Better yet, find one in a dealership nearby and head out there to see it in person. Happy travels.
