General Motors is one of the last American carmakers that isn't killing off all passenger cars. Stellantis, for example, is ending the Challenger run as the Charger reverts to a two-door lifestyle and just produced the final Hemi-equipped Chrysler 300C.
On the other hand, Cadillac is proudly building the CT4 and CT5 with V-Series and Blackwing derivatives, plus the quirky Celestiq fastback EV sedan. As for Chevrolet, they are sending the 2024 Camaro into retirement with no immediate replacement in sight, but they promise this is not the end of the road for the iconic nameplate. Meanwhile, the 2024 Malibu soldiers on for at least another model year, and the C8 Corvette shines brightly like a star in Stingray, Z06, and E-Ray form – and according to the rumor mill, the latter just started series production, so expect to see it roaming around pretty soon.
Even better, the rumor mill not only discusses the upcoming 850+ hp ZR1 and 1,000-hp Zora versions of the C8 Corvette but also loves to talk about all sorts of revivals. As such, some think the big Impala (including in SS form) will soon make a comeback, while others believe the Chevelle moniker is the one to root for. Thus, it is no wonder that the imaginative realm of digital car content creators doesn't know with whom to root for.
No worries, they always have a solution across the parallel universes of vehicular CGI. For example, the good folks over at the CarTech Explorers channel on YouTube are allowing their resident pixel master to use way too much AI software for this revival that portrays the returning Chevelle as both a two-door and four-door muscle car. Oddly enough, the virtual artist is also using artificial intelligence to design the interiors – and it's not doing great at it.
There are numerous variations on the same subject – a modern Chevelle picking up from where the 2024 Camaro sixth generation has left off. Additionally, there are also a few instances of the revived muscle car posing as a four-door sedan larger than the current Malibu, so they mixed and matched the original Chevelle two-door and big Impala sedan into just one design project.
Alas, don't trust these things to become real anytime soon – especially because Chevrolet hasn't made anything official and also because most of these AI-assisted creations look like they are about to warp space and time to be able to travel to a galaxy far, far away! However, just for the fun of it, let's ask the burning question: would anyone buy a revived Chevrolet Chevelle when the sixth-generation Camaro failed so miserably at posing a threat to the Mopars and Ford Mustang? Probably yes, but only if it has a mighty supercharged V8 under the hood…
