It’s quite interesting how a good product can change the entire market in some segments. High-performance models like BMW’s M line-up and Mercedes-Benz’s AMG have always dictated the way mainstream cars were built.
Therefore, it doesn’t come as a surprise when a newer and more unexperienced contender shows up, claiming it will provide the same performance and luxury for a much lower price tag.
After Hyundai revealed its plans to rival BMW’s M division with their own “N” division, the Japanese thinkers behind Infiniti decided they want to do the same.
Probably tired of being destroyed/obliterated on the track by BMW’s machines, Infiniti President, Johan de Nysschen revealed that they also want to launch a new performance sub-brand, in an interview with Automotive News.
Of course, the announcement included phrases like “high-end performance cars that take no prisoners” and other mumbled threats but, for now, nobody over at BMW is showing no concern.
