Word has it that Honda is about to ditch the Acura TSX, despite Acura boss saying that the compact sedan will remain in the lineup “for the foreseeable future”.
According to Automotive News, the aging TSX is positioned to close to the ILX, the company’s entry-level luxury sedan, as well as the mid-sized TL model. Moreover, the TSX, which is based on the European/Japanese Honda Accord platform, could be squeezed out of the Acura lineup by the new global platform-based US Accord.
And speculations don’t stop here. The same source says, quoting company insiders, that the 2014 Acura TL will be made smaller to make room for the flagship RLX model, which will slot it right above the TSX.
However, Acura dealers seem to know next to nothing about the TSX being axed, as they still expect the 2014 model to arrive in September.
