The good folks over at the racing-focused ImportRace channel on YouTube are not at their usual venue - Island Dragway in Great Meadows, New Jersey, but at M.I.R. (Maryland International Raceway) for some RaceMotive roll racing action.
RaceMotive says, "2024 is for the racers," and every month from May through October this year, they have events at four different venues for as many great roll-racing & drag-racing experiences as possible. All events are open to spectators, feature street cars only, and include Pocono Raceway, Maryland International Raceway, Maple Grove Raceway, and the New Jersey Motorsports Park.

Pocono is the most visited venue because over there, RaceMotive has scheduled no less than six events, but this time around, the videographer is not bringing excerpts from Pocono and instead visited M.I.R. to check out the offer, which includes roll and drag racing, street cars, and bikes, a car show, and even a drifting exhibition. Of course, we are mostly interested in the full track prep action, and this recent video focuses on a white knight in shiny armor, a second-generation Acura NSX hybrid sports car.

The roll racing category has multiple classes for battle on the 1/3-mile (1,760-ft) track with side-by-side heads-up elimination brackets, by the way. First, the Acura went up against a crimson Chevrolet Camaro SS and put everything into the proper trap speed perspective with a 140 mph versus 136 mph victory. That was a hard-fought win, of course, and next up, the NSX went head-to-head with a Ford Mustang GT that managed to gain a slight advantage at the end of the run: 142.59 mph versus 140.67s.

Curiously, the white Acura NSX still fought another opponent – a crimson Audi RS 3 sedan that allegedly developed around 600 horsepower. Well, that wasn't enough to beat the two-door hybrid sports car because the NSX clocked almost 139 mph, and the luxury sedan was only at 131 mph. That is all, and unfortunately, we didn't get any additional details about the NSX's trial and tribulations at the roll racing competition.

Even sadder, it doesn't matter how much this Acura NSX impressed you – the second generation of the Japanese sports car has already ceased production since 2022 when it went out with a Type S bang limited to 350 units worldwide, all churning out a higher combined maximum output of 602 horsepower. So, what do you think – was this a regular NSX or a Type S?

Also, we really hope that Acura won't bring only crossover SUVs to the market from now on – although this year they are already obsessed with CUVs, hence the refreshed 2025 MDX, the first-ever Acura ZDX Type S all-electric, or the reveal that they will soon add a new entry-level high-riding model dubbed ADX to sit right next to the Acura Integra fastback sedan.
