Toyota Motor Company reached another milestone but forgot to tell us at the end of last year. Or maybe it was busy counting cars...
The Japanese automaker just announced that on December 5th, 2013, its cumulative vehicle production in the country surpassed 150 million units, a number that was reached after 78 years and 5 months.
The whole thing started with the production of the Model G1 truck in August 1935 at Toyoda Automatic Loom Works, Ltd.’s Automotive Department, section that later became the Toyota Motor Company.
As of the end of December 2013, Toyota’s cumulative global production reached approximately 210 million vehicles. TMC in Japan made around 70 percent out of them and the “Corolla” accounts for the largest share, at 25.45 million units.
