9ff has overdone its homework by releasing a top of the tuning range package for the Porsche 911 Turbo, the DR700.
The new kit comes with a high performance exhaust system that includes a sound control feature, allowing the driver to adjust the tone, large intercoolers, a sports air filer, and a new intake manifold, 9ff turbochargers, a bespoke camshaft and re-engineered connecting rods. In addition to that, it offers an ECU remap and an optimization for the transmission (this covers both the manual gearbox and the PDK double clutch ‘box).
While the standard 3.8 liter 6 cylinder unit that powers the 911 offers 500 hp and 649 Nm of torque, the 9ff’s version of the engine delivers 700 hp and 870 Nm of torque. This allows the vehicle to post a set of very impressive acceleration times: it only needs 3.2 seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph), 9.4 seconds to leave the 200 km/h (124 mph) mark behind and 23 seconds to break the 300 km/h (186 mph) barrier.
The German tuning house has not revealed the pricing for the new tuning package, but we expect it to be pretty high, considering that the DR700 is more potent than the tuner's recently released range of 911 Turbo modification kits. This includes the DR530, which offers 530 hp and 735 Nm of torque, the DR580 that delivers 580 hp and 800 Nm of torque and the DR 640, which unleashes 640 hp & 830 Nm of torque. The DR 640 has a price of 17,980 euro (this does not include tax and installation costs), so the DR700 should costs as much as an average hot hatch.
