Although it was announced at the start of the year, the refreshed 2025 Honda Civic hasn't appeared in any official capacity in America since. And everyone is eagerly awaiting it, especially the hybrid version.
The rival folks from Toyota have already started their 2025 model year announcements, and the lot not only includes all-new stuff like the 2025 Camry or 4Runner and Crown Signia but also carry-overs like the 2025 Crown or Corolla Hatchback. Meanwhile, Honda is treading water with news mostly directed at its monthly sales performance.

Indeed, the Japanese automaker has reasons to feel proud – its American Honda division has continued its strong showing this year, with April's year-to-date deliveries up by more than 12%. This was also the company's third month in a row with more than 100k sales, and the compact Civic is up more than 35% year-over-year. As such, it's no wonder they are not in a hurry to churn out the promised fresh products.

Instead, so far, the most interesting product launches include the limited-reach Honda CR-V e:FCEV crossover, a plug-in hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle set for production in America, along with the 2025 Honda Pilot Black Edition. However, some folks are such in a hurry that they don't even want to wait for the updated 2025 Civic and Civic Hybrid to hit the market, and they are already thinking about the next iteration, the twelfth generation of the iconic compact series.

Of course, it could be said that the rumor mill and the imaginative realm of digital car content creators are always like this, and Vince Burlapp (aka vburlapp on social media or burlappcar.com), a prolific virtual artist who loves to dream of all the latest models across the wide-ranging automotive realm, doesn't stray from the norm. Indeed, although he acknowledges that it's "quite early to try and guess what the next-generation Honda Civic will look like," the pixel master probably can't help it.

As such, "here we are," looking at the unofficial design project of the 2026 or 2027 Honda Civic. Naturally, the CGI expert acknowledges Honda's traditional way of doing things – they will present a 'concept' of the next-gen Civic sometime next year or in 2026, but the prototype will be nothing but the real car with larger wheels and/or blacked-out windows. Also, he opines that by the time we get the new iteration, the new hybrid powertrain will probably become a standard fixture, and Honda could also add a PHEV and a full EV in the mix to make everyone happy.

So, what do you think? Is Honda coming out soon with the next-generation Civic, or will the company let the refreshed series thrive for a couple more years? Also, do you think that it will be a conservative design like this one done in CGI, or is Honda going the way of the 0 Series concepts with more radical styling?
