Were you worried Audi might drop the A6 Allroad Quattro with the next generation that will transition to the A7 moniker? Well, fret not, jacked-up station wagon lovers, as this model will still be part of the lineup, and we have physical proof of that.
At first glance, this prototype may look like the regular A7 Avant to the average Joe. However, the devil is in the details, and if you look closely, you will see flared wheel arches. And no, it's not the next RS 7 Avant, as it lacks the sporty aero and the large dual exhaust tips at the rear.

In all likelihood, those fender extensions will be black, just like the lower sections of the front and rear bumpers and the side skirts. You know, just like the current A6 Allroad. The model also rides higher off the ground than the normal 2026 A7 family, so it will still be an interesting alternative to traditional crossovers, especially since it features the brand's quattro all-wheel drive system as standard.

We don't know yet what lies under the hood, but the current one uses a 3.0L V6 on this side of the pond, making 335 hp (340 ps/250 kW) and 369 pound-foot (500 Nm) of torque. The model is quite fast, with 5.4s required to reach 60 mph (97 kph) and a top speed capped at 130 mph (209 kph). A seven-speed S tronic transmission delivers everything to the quattro AWD system. The outgoing A6 Allroad has a five-link independent air suspension at both axles, six-piston front brake calipers, and single-piston rear ones.

In Europe, the current A6 Allroad is offered with several diesel powertrains in addition to a gasoline unit, and given that low-revving mills are still popular over there, we wouldn't be surprised if its successor stays true to this recipe, albeit with new engines. As usual, the AWD system will be standard, and a transmission that is yet-unclosed will deploy the thrust to the wheels.

Besides the model-specific bumpers, side skirts, fender flares, jacked-up suspension, and probably exclusive wheels and tires, as well as some tweaks made on the inside, the all-new Audi A7 Allroad will be identical to the rest of the next-gen A7 Avant lineup. The regular series is expected to debut a few months from now, and chances are the jacked-up wagon will follow it not long after it premieres.

The 2024 Audi A6 Allroad starts at $69,300 in our market, before destination and dealer fees, and the new one should be a bit more expensive when it arrives in showrooms nationwide. So, would you kick that crossover out of bed for this model, or does a real high-rider look more appealing to you?
