After introducing the 2025 Toyota Corolla Hatchback, it's time for the sedan version to gain some fresh goodies for the new model year – along with a new FX Edition.
At home, in Japan, the biggest automaker in the world is in shambles alongside its peers from Honda, Mazda, Yamaha, and Subaru after the companies have admitted to chronic faking of safety testing procedures. However, elsewhere, it's business as usual.

In Europe, for example, they recently made some executive changes, introduced the new Yaris Cross, or celebrated the three decades of legacy of the best-selling RAV4 compact crossover SUV. In America, one of its most important markets, they are diligently preparing the popular Corolla family for the 2025 model year changeover.

First, they started with the 2025 Toyota Corolla Hatchback, which basically stayed the same with its three grades, right down to pricing. No worries, the sedan is getting some love, too. Even better, the Japanese carmaker has announced that it will add a Corolla FX Special Edition to the lineup for the 2025 model year.

Fans of the Corolla lineage might remember this moniker, but for everyone else, Toyota is paying tribute to the sporty Corolla FX16 from 1987. The modern special edition starts from an SE base, which is an intermediate trim between the entry-level LE and the Nightshade Edition, and then adds new perks like a fresh rear spoiler, new 18-inch satin-black alloy wheels with machined accents and black lug nuts, a black roof for a dual-tone atmosphere, along with black badges and black mirror caps.

The Corolla family is currently produced based on the TNGA-C platform with an independent MacPherson-type strut front suspension with stabilizer bar, and now the all-new 2025 Toyota Corolla FX Edition has standard lowering springs "to allow for the perfect aggressive stance" while the Toyota engineers tuned the Electric Power Steering for a sportier feeling for the driver.

Unfortunately, the new limited series doesn't come with mechanical upgrades under the hood - the Corolla FX still features the same 2.0-liter Dynamic Force four-cylinder packing Dual Variable Valve Timing and 169 horsepower along with 151 lb.-ft. of torque – that way, it maintains the manufacturer-estimated 34 combined MPG rating.

Moving inside, the company has equipped the FX with sporty Moonstone fabric seats dressed with orange stitching, and Toyota premieres the 10.5-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia screen in the special series. Even better, it is a standard feature on FX and optionally available on the other 2025 Corolla models. Additionally, it has a 7-inch multi-information display and a wireless charger from the XSE grade. The personalization process concludes with available in Midnight Black Metallic, Ice Cap, and Underground exterior colors; the latter two are offered standard with a dual-tone appearance thanks to the Midnight Black Metallic roof.
