Lexus has brought the ES into the 2025 model year, announcing a few unexciting updates compared to the comprehensive ones its platform-sharing sibling, the Toyota Camry, received.
One of the biggest novelties is the introduction of the Black Line Special Edition. This model has returned to the Lexus ES series for the 2025 model year after a four-year hiatus, featuring some interesting add-ons.

The 2025 Lexus ES Black Line Special Edition builds on the 350 F Sport Handling and adds a few black touches on the side mirror caps, rocker panel, and rear spoiler. It also has F Sport puddle lamps, door switch plates, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a head-up display, smart key card, a panoramic view monitor, and can be specified with the Mark Levinson audio.

Production of this model is capped at 1,000 copies, and it costs an extra $3,965 over the ES 350 F Sport Handling. The latter comes with an MSRP of $49,650, which makes the Black Line Special Edition cost $53,615. The pricing includes the $1,150 destination charge and excludes dealer fees and any options customers may check on the list.

The rest of the series carries over unchanged. This also applies to the base grade's MSRP, which still starts at $43,190. Interested parties can order the ES 350 or the ES 250 AWD for this sum. The former uses a V6 engine rated at 302 hp (306 ps/225 kW) and 267 pound-foot (362 Nm) of torque, an 8sp automatic transmission, and returns 22/32/25 mpg (10.7/7.4/9.4 l/100 km) in city/highway/combined.

The latter brings a 2.5-liter motor and an all-wheel drive system, and the ES 300h completes the powertrain lineup. It utilizes a gasoline engine coupled with a small electric motor and a hybrid transaxle, producing a total of 215 horsepower (218 ps/160 kW). This version returns 43/44/44 mpg (5.5/5.4/5.4 l/100 km) in city/highway/combined and packs a lithium-ion battery under the rear seats.

Lexus' 2025 ES is offered in multiple configurations, including the Base, Luxury, Ultra Luxury, F Sport Design, and F Sport Handling versions, all of which are in the 350 configuration, meaning that they pack the aforementioned V6. The 250 AWD, 250 AWD Luxury, 250 AWD Ultra Luxury, and 250 AWD F Sport Design are also available, featuring the four-banger and an all-wheel drive system. The 300h lineup comprises the Base, Luxury, Ultra Luxury, F Sport Design, and F Sport Handling and packs the partially electrified assembly.

The priciest version is the Black Line Special Edition, and sitting below it in terms of Benjamins is the 300h Ultra Luxury, which can be ordered from $53,480. Full pricing details are available in the photo gallery shared above, and before moving on to it, tell us this: would you get the 2025 ES over a BMW 3 Series or Mercedes C-Class?
