Well, a lot is happening at Jeep right now - in Europe, they just launched the Avenger 4xe; in the Land Down Under, they have the "pioneering" Compass e-Hybrid and 4xe ready to advance the brand towards a zero-emissions lifestyle; and in America, it's all about the all-electric Wagoneer S crossover SUV.
At home in the United States, the 600-hp Jeep Wagoneer S will try to attack Tesla's pedestal and strive to go to-toe with the Model Y Performance. There's also a Wagoneer S Trailhawk concept based on the production counterpart that seeks to improve the latter's off-road prowess. But that is not all, of course.
Instead, the rumor mill is already looking ahead at the next release, and it turns out that Jeep's CEO, Antonio Filosa, confirmed the next-generation Cherokee will arrive next year – most likely equipped with gasoline and hybrid power from the onset as the company has promised that all model lines will be electrified from 2025.
Naturally, the imaginative realm of digital car content creators is not far behind, either. Vince Burlapp (aka vburlapp on social media) is a prolific virtual artist who loves to dream of all the latest models across the wide-ranging automotive realm, and he believes that following the launch of the Wagoneer S, we might get the surprising appearance of the base 2025 Jeep Compass as an all-new third iteration.
He says that since the current second-generation Compass is already almost eight years old, it may be high time the rumor mill started addressing rumors of a fresh iteration. According to the auto whisperer slash pixel master, the new CUV will be produced either in Italy or Canada (or both) and feature a version of the new STLA Medium platform under its skin – the one already used for the all-new Peugeot 3008 and Opel Grandland.
Of course, since the STLA Medium Is not exactly small, the next-generation Compass might grow some five inches in length, and the powertrains could include both hybrid and all-electric options since the architecture easily accommodates both. The next Jeep Compass could be a very important model for the company as the Renegade is sent into retirement – especially if Stellantis wants to tie it into their $25k Jeep EV for America narrative.
The CGI expert seriously doubts Jeep will be capable of delivering a $25k model on the US market to deliver a massive blow to both Tesla and Chevrolet's new Equinox EV, which is coming with a $35k trim version later this year. So, what do you think? Should we prepare for a veritable Jeep revolution with a $25k all-electric SUV, a third-generation base Compass CUV, as well as a fresh 2026 Jeep Cherokee that's finally worth its illustrious ancestry?
