The South Korean automaker has added some "specification upgrades and refinements" for the entire Kona Electric range in addition to the introduction of the optional N Line performance package.
The all-new Hyundai Ioniq 5 N Time Attack was unveiled at the Nürburgring Nordschleife just in time for the 24 Hours of Nürburgring late last month, and the beast solidifies their presence in the EV field with something that might one day be considered iconic - the 5 N TA will get ready for the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb this month.

However, you also need to translate into sales these efforts. While the fully-fledged Ioniq 5 N looks like a monster in the Time Attack specification, maybe you don't need all the aero tricks and 687 metric horsepower (677 horsepower), right? No worries, Hyundai has EV folks covered with additional options like the Kona Electric, the regular Ioniq 5, the Ioniq 6 sedan, or even the Nexo Fuel Cell crossover.

Anyway, this time around, let us discuss the entry-level option, as the Kona Electric is barely $100 more than a Hyundai Tucson Hybrid in the United States. Over there, though, it's only available with SE, SEL, and Limited trim options. A bit limited, don't you think (pun intended)? Well, in places like the United Kingdom, it has become sportier and influenced by the N division since early last year.

America might have to wait a little bit more, but Australia is already getting the 2025 model year specifications and prices, complete with various "upgrades and refinements." The big news, though, is the addition of the N Line performance package to the roster. Even better, it is available for both trim levels, though only in combination with the more powerful 150 instead of 99 kW (201 versus 133 hp) electric motor and the Extended Range battery pack (64.8 instead of 48.6 kWh).

Naturally, it brings along a set of "performance-inspired exterior and interior styling upgrades." Among them, we find the N Line front and rear bumpers, bespoke 19-inch N Line alloy wheels, plus a combination of black leather and Alcantara for the interior. The 2025 Hyundai Kona Electric range gains comfort elements like padded leather-appointed door armrests for the base trim level, while the N Line gains some exclusive perks like the Neoteric Yellow and Soultronic Orange exterior colors plus optional Light Shale Grey or Sage Green interiors if Obsidian Black is not your cue along with the red highlights and N emblems.

Pricing for the 2025 Hyundai Kona Electric starts from AUD 54,000, which is almost $36k at the current exchange rate (in America, the base 133-hp Kona Electric SE is $32,675) for the 2WD standard range model. The more powerful Extended model kicks off at AUD 58k or AUD 62k ($41k) with the N Line package, whereas the Kona Electric Premium goes for AUD 68k ($45k) or AUD 71k ($47k) with N Line. Meanwhile, the US-specification 201-hp Kona Electric SEL costs $36,675, and the Limited is $41,045.
