The apparently unending release of new motorcycles for the 2025 model year from Husqvarna continues this week with the announcement concerning the FS 450. The "short circuit racer," as the two-wheeler is advertised, got a bunch of revisions to meet the needs of the riders in the new year, and here you're about to learn about them all.
The FS 450 occupies a place in the bike maker's supermoto category, alongside the 701. In the company's view, it is the "supermoto model of choice for all serious competitors" and as such the changes made, although not that extensive, will probably have quite the impact.
The bike's main elements, however, remain in essence the same as before, despite minor tweaks here and there. The frame, for instance, is a chromium molybdenum steel piece, running an aluminum -polyamide hybrid subframe.
The engine fitted inside it is the same 450cc SOHC four-stroke as before, with no changes made in this department. The powerplant's operation is backed by a multitude of rider-assist features, including launch control, traction control, and a quick-shifter. The engine can be set to operate based on two different maps.
The wheels the engine is supposed to spin are of Alpina make and they wear Metzeler Racetec SM K1 tires. Brembo braking hardware is on deck to bring the bike to a stop in a hurry when needed. The same Brembo is responsible for supplying the clutch system.
We knew all of the above from the previous incarnations of the bike, so what changed for the new model year?
Well, the first and perhaps most important upgrade is the fitting of new WP XACT closed cartridge forks at the front. The rear, on the other hand, is supported by a WP XACT shock with a CFD-optimised main piston. This suspension element can be adjusted by hand and is aided by an updated die-cast aluminum swingarm.
The seat of the FS 450 is how 5 mm higher (at its lowest point), but also wider than before, in a bid to ensure a more solid blend between rider and bike. To make sure proper control of the ride is exercised, ProTaper handlebars and ODI grips have been installed.
Visually speaking, the 2025 FS 450 comes with new radiator shrouds and a Swedish-inspired graphics scheme that was never used before. To make sure the footrests no longer scrape the asphalt when turning hard, but also in a bid to reduce weight, the footrests are now smaller.
Husqvarna says the 2025 FS 450 is already available to order in all of the markets it is present in. Pricing for the bike has not been disclosed, so you'll need to get in touch with your local dealer for that.
