The Romanian automaker Dacia is not exactly a global affair – but it's a true love story addressed to the automotive industry's simpler times. After all, they have French patrons, and France is renowned for its romanticism.
Jokes aside, Dacia has always strived to offer the most affordable yet smart means of transportation. For example, in recent times, the carmaker is among the brands that will sell you a car without a central dashboard screen, the funky cheap Spring EV, but also the cool third generation Dacia Duster subcompact crossover SUV with hybrid power and a double bed among its accessories.

They also know how to cause a ruckus – their race-ready Dacia Sandrider buggy is their contender for Dakar 2025 with a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 under the hood packing 360 horsepower and a team of drivers that includes nine-time WRC champion Sebastien Loeb and Dakar legend Nasser Al-Attiyah! As for its current roster, everything is new or updated.

More is coming because after almost four years of waiting and longing, the Dacia Bigster Concept will finally transition to mass production as Duster's bigger, fully compact sibling. It made its spy debut earlier this month while undergoing hot weather testing, apparently somewhere in sunny Spain. From a camouflaged prototype to the real deal, there's just one more intermediate, unofficial step.

That's because the imaginative realm of digital car content creators also wants a go at the upcoming Dacia Bigster, the company's largest model to date. Dimas Ramadhan, the virtual automotive artist behind the Digimods DESIGN channel on YouTube, has taken up the task of CGI-revealing the all-new Dacia Bigster – showing everything in advance with help from digital illustrations.

If the renderings are accurate based on the spied prototypes, then the upcoming series-production Dacia Bigster will naturally share design cues with the latest iteration of the Duster and also the study from 2021. Obviously, the front fascia looks entirely familiar if you've seen the Duster, the profile is larger to accommodate the new dimensions, and the biggest changes may come around the back to help the two models differentiate from each other.

This is going to be a five or seven-seat model, obviously, allowing bigger families to take advantage of the potential for adventures alongside the Bigster. Inside, the Dacia Bigster will share even more commonalities with the Duster, and we expect the same seven-inch digital instrument cluster and 10.1-inch infotainment display along with clever accessories and features.

Under the hood, with the Bigster also using the same Renault Group CMF-B platform spread throughout Dacia's lineup and other brands from the family, the new crossover SUV may receive the same powertrain options - bi-fuel, mild hybrid, and full hybrid. Chances are that Dacia's Bigster might get punchier versions of these options, though, as it needs to compensate for its larger dimensions.
