The American muscle car 'society' seems a bit in disarray these days. That's mainly the fault of Stellantis and General Motors, though, not the Blue Oval company.
Ford soldiers on with the S650 seventh-generation Mustang in EcoBoost, Mustang GT, and Dark Horse form. Soon, there will also be a $325k Ford Mustang GTD – complete with Carbon Series and a new Performance pack, as revealed on the eve of the Ferrari-won 24 Hours of Le Mans. It seems that Ford is set for continued worldwide domination, right?

Both Stellantis and General Motors have seemingly abandoned the two-door V8 lifestyle after, in December 2023, they ceased production of the L-bodied Dodge Charger and Challenger plus the sixth-generation Chevy Camaro. However, they – too – have some redeeming qualities. More precisely, Dodge has announced the 2024 Charger Daytona with an EV powertrain and the 2025 Charger Sixpack with the all-new 3.0-liter Hurricane inline-six twin-turbo mill. Plus, they also have both a two-door fastback coupe and a four-door version for each.

Meanwhile, General Motors allows Cadillac to take the flagship sedan mantle with the fresh CT4-V Blackwing Petit Pataud and CT5-V Blackwing Le Monstre special edition variants. Also, the C8 Corvette ZR1 is coming out this summer. Alas, some will say that nothing compares to a V8 muscle car coupe with just two doors from Chevrolet, for example.

That argument is valid, including across the imaginative realm of digital car content creators, and this virtual artist, better known as hycade on social media, can easily be seen as a massive contemporary sports car fan, so a new Camaro is entirely consistent with his vision of Americana automotive lifestyle.

Actively ignoring the rumor mill's claims that GM head honchos are sending hints from their corner offices about Camaro's return as an affordable EV model, this pixel master has taken the current sixth generation's DNA and enhanced it according to his percepts, complete with new head and taillights, a full widebody aerodynamic kit, large wheels, a lowered stance, and all the necessary hints about a V8 dwelling under the hood – such as big air vents up front and massive dual exhausts at the rear.

Of course, nothing is official, so take all this with a grain of salt because a seventh-generation ICE-powered Chevy Camaro may forever remain merely wishful thinking. However, looking at this digital concept, it's pretty clear that the CGI expert doesn't target the upcoming Dodge Charger Daytona but rather the S650 Ford Mustang GT and Dark Horse plus the upcoming 550-hp Dodge Charger Sixpack H.O.

So, what do you think? Would Chevrolet stand a fighting chance against the Mustang if it looked like this and was allowed another stint as an ICE-powered model? Or is this merely a delusion, and is the Camaro's fate already sealed in Ultium BEV vaults?
