BMW's M Division has many things on its plate, including the M5 Touring. That's right, the super wagon will return to the series after a long hiatus, and it's also coming to North America, as the German automaker has confirmed.
Right now, the team responsible for its development is putting the final touches on it. We've seen numerous prototypes doing their thing in different environments, albeit with the usual trippy stickers wrapped around their bodies.

Nevertheless, we already know what to expect in terms of visuals, like the bigger front and rear bumpers with a more aggressive design, a tweaked grille, fat skirts, a sporty diffuser, and quad exhaust tips. The wheels will also be exclusive to the model, and the M logos will decorate its exterior.

The latter will also be found in the cockpit on various components, like the gear shifter and steering wheel. The front seats will have more side bolstering to keep the passenger and driver secured during high-speed cornering. The upholstery will also be exclusive, and we expect the main screens to feature some unique touches.

Beneath the skin, the engineers gave it a bespoke suspension setup balanced between quick apex hunting and everyday comfort. The brakes are superior compared to the regular 5 Series, and under the hood, the 2025 BMW M5 Touring (and the M5 Sedan) will sport an electrified V8.

All signs point to the XM Label's powertrain, which unleashes 738 hp (750 ps/550 kW) and 738 lb-ft (1,000 Nm) of torque. Mind you, that would make it much punchier than its predecessor, including the ultra-hot M5 CS, which has 626 hp (635 ps/467 kW) and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm), taking just 2.9s to push to sixty mph (97 kph).

However, due to the extra weight (electric motor and small battery pack), we reckon the all-new BMW M5 will be a hair slower. This leaves room for a potentially new M5 CS, which is probably on the menu and could launch a couple of years after the regular M5, with its plug-in hybrid setup, breaks cover.

Now, while BMW keeps fine-tuning the 2025 M5 (Sedan and Touring), rendering artists worldwide have peeled off its fake skin. The latest digital illustrations, which you can see in the gallery above, came from the peeps at Kolesa and put the spotlight on the M5 Touring.

In case you were wondering, the quoted outlet tends to release very realistic CGIs of upcoming models, and from what we can tell, the 2025 BMW M5 Touring will look a lot like this. The new M5 is likely due in a few weeks/months, and we can't wait to see it. But would you buy one? And if so, will it be the four-door or the five-door model?
