Right alongside the $65k (plus $1,175 for destination and handling) 2025 BMW M2 comes the regular 2025 BMW 2 Series with 230i and M240i variants – either with RWD or xDrive.
BMW AG is having a fresh summer this year with the recent introduction of the updated 2025 BMW 3 Series and the spectacular M3, but there's also a practical and versatile 2025 MINI Cooper 4-Door plus the refreshed M2 and 2 Series.

The M2 has new exterior shades, the iDrive 8.5 operating system, more power thanks to a 20-hp bump to 473 horsepower, as well as a higher starting MSRP of $64,900 + $1,175 destination and handling. Those who don't want the exotic sports car might consider the 2025 BMW 2 Series instead – the regular coupe is also updated for the new model year.

These two-door coupe body styles are rarer than hen's teeth in this day and age of the automotive industry when everything is about the crossover, SUV, and truck gods. However, BMW thinks it can still entice customers with a combination of "unreserved sportiness, extraordinary driving dynamics, and premium features" in a classic format.

In fact, this is an ideal entry point for traditional BMW driving dynamics, but don't expect a revolution because the new 2 Series looks 99% the same as the old one. We are not even sure that we should call this a facelift – or an LCI (Life Cycle Impulse), as the Bavarians like to call these refreshes. Anyway, this "new" BMW 2 Series Coupe will be introduced to nationwide dealerships in August, with production taking place alongside the M2 at the BMW Group plant in San Luis Potosí, Mexico.

Prices kick off a little higher than before, as the 2024 model year starts from $38,800 (or $40,800 with xDrive) for the 230i, and the M240i is $49,700 or $51,700 with xDrive. Meanwhile, the 2025 BMW 230i is, from now on, $39,200 or $41,200, whereas the M240i starts at $50,100 or $52,100 – and all of them also get a $1,175 destination and handling fee.

The changes include a couple of new metallic or BMW Individual exterior paints - Vegas Red metallic and Skyscraper Grey metallic plus Frozen Pure Grey or Frozen Portimao Blue II. Additionally, Zandvoort Blue comes down from M2 to M240i. New 19-inch alloy wheels are offered alongside a new M Sport Professional Package with M Shadow Line lights, a black M spoiler in the back, Extended Shadowline trim, and M Sport brakes.

Inside, BMW adds BMW iDrive with QuickSelect using the BMW Operating System 8.5 on the BMW Curved Display with a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and 14.9-inch Control Display. The cockpit has fewer buttons and controls, which is not necessarily a good thing, while the central air vents now integrate new waterfall ambient lighting. There are also new steering wheels, seat surfaces, and trims. The engines – with 255 hp and 295 lb-ft or 382 hp and 369 lb-ft remain the same.
