Audi of America recently announced the estimated range specifications and delivery timings for the all-new 2025 Q6 e-tron and its higher-powered SQ6 sibling, but the exact pricing and specifications will be revealed closer to the fourth-quarter start of deliveries.
Most importantly, according to the preliminary manufacturer's range estimate, the Audi Q6 e-tron quattro "delivers the longest range and fastest charging of any Audi EV SUV to date." That's 307 miles of electric range in the EPA test cycle – enough to compete head-on with the Tesla Model Y Long Range AWD, which boasts precisely 308 miles of range. One thing, though – it's going to be hard to beat the mainstream $48k starting price (without incentives) of Tesla's popular crossover.

The 2025 Audi Q6 e-tron will launch with the quattro and SQ6 models in the United States, with the former boasting 422 hp (456 hp with launch control) for an estimated sprint to 60 mph (96 kph) in 4.9 seconds with launch control. Meanwhile, the SQ6 e-tron has 483 hp (509 hp with launch control) and zips to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds before reaching a top speed of 143 mph. The range decreases slightly to 276 miles on the EPA test cycle with standard equipment, which is again very close to what the Tesla Model Y Performance has to offer – 279 miles of range and a $51,490 starting price. Erm, not the starting price, though – that one will come later from Audi, and it's probably not on par.

Anyway, expected to arrive across nationwide US dealerships during the year's final three months, the 2025 Audi Q6 e-tron seeks to democratize the Audi electrification ethos into a wider sector, the mid-size luxury SUV segment. This, along with the SQ6 e-tron, is the first model from the company produced on the fresh Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture, so the automaker believes the "Q6 e-tron is the new benchmark for the brand balancing driving dynamics, range, lighting and infotainment technologies, and everyday usability."

It also brings the latest updates to motor and battery construction, so Audi believes the new crossover SUV will be vastly superior to their first generation of EVs. Additionally, this marks the launch of the brand's latest infotainment system, which includes a fresh user interface and a more complete digital user experience. On the outside, this model debuts Audi's next-generation advanced lighting technology, incorporating new features with LED and OLED technologies.

Recharging is also a step forward at up to 270 kW when fast-charging at DC stations, and "thanks to the high degree of scalability with the PPE," in 2025, Audi will include even more Q6 e-tron models, including a cheaper, base RWD variant as well as a Sportback model along with potent RS versions. The good news is that all of them will eventually join the US lineup, by the way.
