We saw Alpina test the 2025 B3 a little over a month ago, and the revised model has now stepped into the spotlight again, this time with our spy photographers snapping images of the Sedan and Touring undergoing testing at the Nurburgring in Germany.
The two testers had their front and rear fascias under wraps, suggesting they will at least sport new bumpers, if not revised lighting units, too. Making out the differences is tricky, and while some outlets report that the front and rear bumpers are identical, we can see some changes to the apron in this case, as well as what seem to be redesigned side vents.

Of course, that could be the trippy camouflage playing tricks on our eyes, yet there's no reason to believe the 2025 Alpina B3 won't feature new bumpers. Reports also speak of possible revised lighting units. Whatever Alpina has up its sleeve will probably mirror the updates of the regular BMW 3 Series, on which the B3 is built, is said to go under the knife this summer.

As the testing and fine-tuning phase advances, Alpina could also equip its 2025 B3 prototypes with different bumpers, as these are still early prototypes. That said, the best might be yet to come, including some interior changes. The rumor mill is talking about different switchgear and revised trim, which we'll take with a pinch of salt for now.

Our spy photographers believe a power boost could be on the menu, a well-deserved upgrade that would step on the M3's toes even more. The current B3 enjoys 488 hp (495 ps/364 kW) and 538 lb-ft (730 Nm) of torque. Thus, it is already 15 horsepower (15 ps/11 kW) more powerful than the standard M3, and a 15 hp boost would make it just as punchy as the superior M3 Competition.

As much as we'd like to see the 2025 Alpina B3 become more powerful, we seriously doubt that its 3.0-liter six-banger steams out more. The car packs an 8-speed automatic transmission, and xDrive all-wheel drive and needs 3.6 and 3.7 seconds to reach 62 mph (100 kph) in the B3 Sedan and B3 Touring, respectively. The D3 S, which is the diesel version that has 350 hp (355 ps/261 kW) and 538 lb-ft (730 Nm), is approximately one second slower.

Alpina may lift the veils off the revised 2025 B3 in the coming months. Our money would be on an official unveiling this fall, with the order books opening shortly after its premiere. We reckon we'll know more about the updated sports sedan and sports wagon by the time they debut, and we're glad they don't feature a large kidney grille like the M3 (and others).
