Lexus has a new toy for rich families in its portfolio, and it targets those who want a lot of space and numerous luxury appointments in a vehicle that doesn't feature a high-ground clearance.
Baptized the LM, it is a luxury minivan in the second generation, which is being marketed in numerous countries worldwide, from Asia to Europe, albeit not in North America. And if you want to find out how much it costs in the United Kingdom, stick around, as the company's local branch has just released the pricing details about it.

Interested parties can now place an order for one of the three versions available. These are the LM 350h with front- and all-wheel-drive, priced from £89,995 ($109,588) and £92,995 ($113,241), respectively, and the top-of-the-line LM 350h Takumi AWD that starts at £112,995 ($137,595). This makes it more expensive than the Mercedes-Benz GLS, available from £88,705 ($108,017) in the UK, whereas the S-Class starts at £92,550 ($112,699).

Lexus says the LM comes with four or seven seats in the United Kingdom. The four-seat Takumi model is the pinnacle of the range, featuring a pair of individual captain's chairs. Those sitting at the back are separated from the driver and front-seat passenger via a partition wall that houses a 48-inch widescreen monitor. The glass panel can be dimmed for additional privacy, and it also features a premium audio system and a clever HVAC that uses thermal sensors to precisely control and direct the air.

Leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel, a head-up display, heating and ventilated seats, ambient lighting, fixed sunroofs, multi-zone climate control, and additional stuff are present in this luxury minivan. The vehicle also gets a plethora of safety gizmos, including the remote parking feature that can be operated using the smartphone. Adaptive cruise control, driver monitoring, eCall, safe exit assist, pre-collision system, steering assist, and others are also on deck.

Built on Toyota's TNGA-K platform, which also underpins the Camry, Century, Venza, Highlander, RAV4, and several Lexus vehicles, like the NX, RX, TX, and ES, the LM comes with a single powertrain in the United Kingdom, regardless of the selected trim level. It is a 2.5-liter hybrid shared with the 350h versions of the NX and RX, which drives the front wheels as standard, pumping out 250 ps (246 hp/184 kW). The two upper specs bring the all-wheel-drive system into play.

Toyota's premium car brand says the LM is eligible for up to 10 years/100,000 miles (160,934 km) of warranty, including the 3-year manufacturer warranty that's followed by up to seven years of service-activated warranty. The high-end people carrier is already on sale in the United Kingdom, where deliveries will kick off in the year's fourth quarter.
