Can you believe that it's been more than two years since BMW's M Division unveiled the M4 CSL? The track-ready premium compact sports coupe has impressed some and disappointed others during this time. However, that has nothing to do with this story, which is about the pictured car looking for a new home.
Only 1,000 units of the BMW M4 CSL were made, and some have already changed hands at a hefty premium. The one pictured above is not exactly a bargain. But you already suspected that, didn't you?

More on the Benjamins towards the end of this story, as first, we have to tell you that this copy has only 1,897 miles (3,053 km) under its belt and a single owner in the papers. The original window sticker and manuals accompany it for geek lectures, and if you were wondering about its overall condition, well, it's like new.

It's presented in Frozen Brooklyn Gray Metallic, which was the model's standard paint finish, with Sapphire Black Metallic and Alpine White Solid being options. This BMW M4 CSL comes with the usual carbon fiber appointments, some red touches, and the advanced aero over the regular M4. It rides on exclusive wheels, has a black leather and Alcantara interior, and it's ready for its next adventures.

Power comes from an upgraded 3.0L twin-turbo straight-six, which features a forged lightweight crankshaft, redesigned cooling and oil supply, 3D printed cylinder head core, and M TwinPower Turbo tech sourced from the M4 GT3 racer. It develops 542 horsepower (550 ps/405 kW) and 479 pound-foot (650 Nm) of torque, sent to the rear axle through an 8-speed transmission.

BMW quotes 0-62 mph (0-100 kph) in 3.7 seconds and 0-124 mph (0-200 kph) in 10.7 seconds. During the unveiling, the automaker also said the M4 CSL was its fastest production car at the Nurburgring Nordschleife, as it lapped the course in 7:15.677 in the 20.6-km (12.8-mile) long configuration and 7:20.207 for the 20.832-km (12.943-mile) variant.

Likely a future collectible, given the model's rarity, boosted power, and other mechanical and visual revisions, the BMW M4 CSL is a car for track enthusiasts. When it was on sale in the United States, it had an MSRP of $139,900 before destination or almost twice as much as the base M4 Coupe. So, how much do you think this one costs?

The answer comes from Garage Kept Motors, which has been tasked with finding a new home for this rare and exciting track tool. The ad reveals a buy-it-now price of $134,900, or $5,000 below the original MSRP. So, if you had that much money lying around and the desire to purchase an exciting machine, would the BMW M4 CSL make it to the top of the list?
