The revised range of Jaguar E-Pace SUVs is about to be launched in the U.S., and for this model year the British carmaker has a few surprises up its sleeve.
The star entry in the lineup is the new Checkered Flag Limited Edition that builds on the existing range and adds unique design enhancements, upgraded standard features, and a price to match.
Visually, the Checkered version is based on the black exterior pack for the E-Pace and adds elements like R-Dynamic body-colored front and rear bumpers, twin tailpipes and LED headlamps with signature J-blade daytime running lights. There are three exterior colors available for this model, including one (Photon Red) exclusive to it.
Inside, this special version of the E-Pace comes with 10-way heated front seats, fixed panoramic roof, 12.3-inch TFT display, R-Dynamic soft grain leather sport steering wheel, black gearshift paddles and an Ebony Morzine headliner.
Powering the SUV along is the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that develops 246 hp. The unit is linked to the all-wheel-drive system as standard.
The regular E-Pace range for the 2020 model year sells from $39,950, and from now on all of the models will come with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility included.
The Checkered Flag Limited Edition will, of course, sell for more than the rest of the range. Jaguar says the asking price for this top variant is $46,400.
The E-Pace crossover entered the American market last year when it managed to sell just under 5,000 units. Judging by the numbers posted so far, the carmaker is on track to equal that figure in 2019.
The nameplate fares a lot better on the European continent, where now it is in its second full year. In 2018 there were nearly 30,000 E-Pace sold there according to Car Sales Base, and last year's number is likely to be reached once more.
