The 2020 Chevy Silverado HD is currently in its advanced development stages and the prototypes have finally dropped the thick wrap covering each and every detail. The test cars now only come in body-hugging camouflage, which means we can notice multiple production details.
As you'll notice in the spyshot gallery above, the front end of the Silverado HD reminds us of the Chevy Blazer's face, thanks to the way in which the grille extends as you look towards the bumper, while the corners of the light clusters are also similar.
Then again, the Silverado styling cues we're all accustomed with are still here, as showcased by the teaser image we received back in the Spring (you'll find this at the end of the gallery). However, you should note that the teaser shows the Z71 trim and there will be more than one front fascia available.
General Motors engineers are ready to be on practicality for the newcomer, which is why the bed features new side steps. Of course, the now-traditional rar bumper steps are also present, which means you can reach into the cargo area from most angles.
As is the case with the 2019 Silverado, the wheel wells have lost their perfectly rounded shape. And we must also mention the cab, which appears to come with a more upright shape, a move expected to maximize interior space. Speaking of which, the cabin should also receive extra storage spaces.
Under the hood, we should be able to choose between V8 mills running on both gas and diesel. Of course, the towing and payload ratings are expected to be impressive, but the automaker has released no details on the matter to date.
The automotive producer is set to reveal the new Silverado HD in the second half of next year, with the workhorse coming to the market as a 2020 model.
