More than half a year since its official debut at the New International Auto Show, the Toyota RAV4 is getting ready to hit U.S. road starting the early days of December.
On Tuesday, the Japanese have released pricing and availability information on the reinvented SUV for the American market. Starting this December, Toyota will begin selling the internal combustion powered versions of the car, while the hybrid ones are expected to be launched in March next year.

The 2019 RAV4 will be offered in five versions for the ICE engined variants and four for the hybrid. Regardless of the trim chosen, customers will get an SUV that is longer and wider than the previous version.

Also, visual changes when compared to the outgoing model are extensive, and they include repositioned side mirrors lower on the door, lowered beltline and redesigned and enlarged rear-quarter glass. All were made, said the Japanese, to provide the driver with improved visibility.

Engine wise, there will be only one unit on offer, a 2.5-liter inline-four-cylinder that can be paired to either an 8-speed Direct-Shift Automatic Transmission or the Toyota Hybrid System II.

Worth mentioning is the fact that Toyota will offer a hybrid variant for all of the car’s trims. In the U.S, the car will sell starting at $25,500 for the entry-level LE trim with front-wheel drive, while the LE hybrid will retail from $27,700.

The top of the range Limited trim will sell for 33,500 for the gasoline front-wheel-drive version, while the hybrid begins at $35,700. There is also an XSE HV trim level that is exclusive to the hybrid variant, and which sells for $33,700.
