We've been waiting for this day to arrive. After enjoying dozens of G-Class models modified by Brabus, it's the turn of the all-new 2019 model. More specifically, we're dealing with the current best, a G63.
What's under the hood is not as important as the heart of this project: a custom-made interior. But for the record, the company has already presented a mild body kit for the regular G 500, which didn't get as much attention as we expected.
The 2019 G-CLass interior, AMG or not, is already a thing of absolute rugged beauty. Of course, Brabus stripped most of it out to fit its custom leatherwork which as expensive as buying a new car.
The dashboard comes fully wrapped in Blue Alcantara with white stitching for contrast. Mercedes' technology is thus made to stand out even more. We're talking about the double screens, the fancy steering wheel with scroll wheels and the frushed metal air vents that match the G-Class headlights.
Some carbon can also be seen, tastefully added to part of the steering wheel. When Brabus makes a full leather interior, nothing is left out. Not only did they cover the obvious stuff like the central transmission tunnel and the roof liner, but also the floor. Yes, this off-roader has blue leather carpets, which seems a tag excessive.
The back seats are just as fancy as the front ones, with perforated inserts and an individual, leather-wrapped air conditioning unit. Unusually for Brabus, they didn't show a leather-wrapped trunk.
This project is coming to the Paris Motor Show, based on the timing of its release. By next year, we should have power packs available as well, which will take the 4-liter V8 to 700 or even 800 horsepower. And it all started with a guy who though the Mercs his dad sold weren't sporty enough. Cool company!
