Now that Bentley has introduced the first all-new incarnation of the Bentley Continental GT since the 2003 original (some will call this the third-gen model), the time has come to zoom in on the Convertible incarnation of the Crewe machine.
While the automotive producer is letting us enjoy the fixed-roof model for now, the world wide web didn't need too much time to come up with a rendering of the Continental GT Convertible.

Thanks to digital art label spdesignsest, we can now enjoy these images of the open-top Grand Tourer. The contraption portrayed here is very close to what we expect from the production model, albeit with the rear deck appearing to be a bit vague.

The new MSB platform serving the 2018 Conti GT means that the Convertible model will deliver superior torsional rigidity, thus bringing improvements on both the handling and the coziness fronts.

We're expecting the newcomer, be it a coupe or an open-air model, to deliver even more high-speed stability. And that's because the front axle now sits 135 millimeters further. Of course, the move also pleases the eye (who doesn't love the image of a low car packing a looong hood?)

As is the case with the Bentley's platform mate, the 2017 Porsche Panamera, the new generation has only brought a limited weight loss - there you go, we also threw in a complain.

Nevertheless, with the help of the new Dynamic Ride System, which features electronically-controlled anti-roll bars, the driver won't have to feel the weight of the car.

For now, Bentley only talks about the W12 model, which packs the Bentayga-debuted incarnation of the twin-turbo mill. The unit delivers 635 hp and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft of twist).

And while the next step will be to introduce the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 that animates the now-old model, you can expect the Continental GT to also offer a hybrid powertrain. The gas-electric setup will involve a V6 motor, so we're expecting the Conti to borrow the Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid's 462 hp hardware.

Once the fixed-roof 2018 Bentley Continental GT makes its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month, we'll be able to dig deeper into the Convertible matter.
