The 2-door Audi Prologue is without a doubt the most interesting and important concept of the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. Built to preview their next design language, i's already captured every Audi fan's imagination, as most believe the company will put a production version in their hands 3 years from now.
Whether that's true or not is up for debate, but today, we can show you what that Audi A9 production car might look like, thanks to the work of X-Tomi Design. He took three different press photos of the concept, painted it blue and sprinkled production car details throughout in order to make it credible.
The A9 in these photos now has Matrix LED headlights from the TT, standard wheels and grille, smaller air intakes and bigger wing mirrors. But the actual A9 might not need LED headlights because Audi could fit it with its new laser system that was installed on the R8 LMX.
It's not the first time the A9 was set in stone and it's probably not going to be the first time it's delayed. But with the S-Class Coupe getting so much attention, the ever eager people at Audi are unlikely to miss out on having their own flagship coupe.(
Audi intentionally gave us a hint towards the powertrain, as the Prologue came with quattro and 605 hp 4.0 TFSI, sort of like the RS7, but better. Such a V8 would make a lot of sense for a gran tourer coupe, as would plug-in hybrid and electric supercharger diesels.
