Ford has been doing some revising for the 2016 Ford Mustang, but don't expect the pony car's face to change very much. Even so, the Blue Oval brought some goodies we're going to detail for you.
All the major design work for the new Mustang was carried out by designers for the 2015MY. However, they kept some features aside, ready to enhance the 2016 Ford Mustang.
For those eager to own a 2016 Mustang EcoBoost Premium, FoMoCo is offering the exclusive Pony Package, inspired by a trim level popular in the '60s. The bundle consists of 19-inch polished aluminum wheels, tri-bar pony logo on the grille, side stripe, and chrome window surround, aimed at making the 'Stang stand out from the crowd and turn heads on every corner.
Ford also listened what fans want and decided to pay homage to the 1967 Mustang. As a result, the 2016 Mustang GT will wear hood vent-mounted turn lights, similar to those on the 1967 icon. In addition, the GT can be had with a fresh Black Accent Package that introduces an 'all black everything' philosophy: black rear spoiler, black emblems and 19-inch alloy wheels with a black finish.
But for those looking to get more out of the Mustang GT, Ford has another present. Called the California Special, the package adds a front splitter, a revised grille, and a strut tower brace. Inside, clients will rest on Ebony leather/Miko suede seats with red contrast stitching and aluminum trim for the dashboard.
Those loving open-top experiences also get spoiled as Ford's package for the Mustang GT convertible includes a larger radiator, revised suspension with upsized rear sway bar, heavy-duty front springs, Six-piston Brembo front brake calipers and "unique tuning for stability control, ABS and electric power-assisted steering".
