On May 16th, the golden bowtie manufacturer will set the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro free in Detroit. Following a plethora of spy photos and renderings, General Motors finally released the first teaser pictures of the sixth-gen ‘Maro’s rear end and hood and we’re not disappointed.
As you can see, for the all-new generation of the pony car breed, Chevy’s design team went berserk with sculpting everything. In the rear end’s case, it’s easy to notice the broad, dramatic rear fenders that pay tribute to the outgoing generation’s muscly hips.
A subtle crease running parallel to the fender and neat-looking rear wing are present, joined by a better styled sweeping roofline. Overall, the rear end appears to be lower and wider to the ground despite GM announcing “a slightly smaller footprint than its predecessor.”
It’s quite a shame though that the taillights have been “omitted” from the teaser picture. “The Camaro went to the gym and came out with a lithe, more athletic physique for the sixth generation,” declared Ed Welburn, the vice president of General Motors’ Global Design division.
“It’s a more expressive evolution of the Camaro’s iconic character – and one that complements its leaner size and sharper reflexes,” Welburn added.
Moving on to the nostril-less aluminum hood, this panel is defined by the complex yet smoothly curved surfaces separated by sharp, aggressive creases. From these two pics and all the previous spy photos, we’ll sum up the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro as drop-dead gorgeous.

If anything, we hope that the cabin design and materials will mirror the sixth-gen's exterior eye candy.
