Want a BMW X1 but don’t really care about your rear passengers? Do you like the look of the Evoque? There’s a car for you and it’s called the F47 X2, scheduled to be launched in 2016 according to the most recent reports.
We are of course talking about a two-door sports activity vehicle that combines the off-road capabilities of an SUV with the on-road feel of an actual car. Once the X2 hits the market, BMW will have one of the most complete SUV model lineups of any German luxury automaker.
The rendering created by Roger Lighterness is more coupe than SUV, almost like a jacked up 1-Series 3-door.
The X2 is going to be described as a lifestyle crossover, sold exclusively as a three-door. It will be marketed as a four-seater car for people who want to enjoy it in their leisure time. The platform will be shared with the X1 (the next one), so you’ll also be able to buy it with FWD as well as AWD.
